Alumina Paper Type APA-1, APA-2 & APA-3

GENERAL INFORMATION ZIRCAR Alumina Papers are uniform structures made principally of alumina fiber. APA-1 is a strong, flexible material with fibers held together with organic binder that is available in roll or sheet form. APA-2 is a flexible un-bonded sheet that contains no organic binder. APA-3 is a thin uniformly rigidized sheet of alumina fiber and binder. They all are useful at temperatures as high as 1650°C (3002°F).

Separator in multifoil vacuum furnace insulation systems.
Expansion joint insulation.
Backup thermal insulation in molten metal troughs, furnaces and thermal process systems operating to high temperatures.
Parting agent and barrier layer in brazing, heat-treating and metal forming processes.
Electrical insulation in high temperature systems operating to 1650°C (3002°F).
