GENERAL INFORMATION

After more than a quarter century producing some of the highest performance insulation materials available ZIRCAR Ceramics has developed significant expertise in the application of the products we produce. Insulation Assemblies are custom engineered systems of ZIRCAR insulation materials designed to suit specific applications and furnace requirements. ZIRCAR insulation assemblies are adaptable to many sizes and  custom configurations such as tube, box, front and bottom loading furnaces. We have designed and built assemblies for use in furnaces with one door, two doors and even three doors.  A typical 1700°C rated insulation assembly consists of a graded series of insulation layers starting with SALI as the hot face, ZAL-15AA as the intermediate insulation and ASH as the backup layer. A 1800°C insulation assembly uses SALI-2 as its hot face layer.

Insulation assemblies are also produced for use in furnaces with corrosive atmospheres such as reducing gases, glass vapors and other environments where silica cannot be tolerated. These "All Alumina assemblies are well suited for use to 1600°C.

AVAILABILITY
Custom insulation Assemblies are usually manufactured to customer order. Our forming processes, large inventory of custom tooling and state of the art machining techniques allow a wide variety of sizes and shapes to be made. Special geometries such as disks, rings, custom bore (round corner square, hexagonal, oval, etc.) cylinders, staved cylinders, troughs, channel, angle, custom- machined shapes and others can be fabricated. Machining to tight tolerance, compositional variations and the application of surface rigidizers and hardening agents are available.
