AX Moldable Cement
Alumina-Silica Insulation Type ECO-1200B can be bonded to itself, or other fibrous insulations, using a cement prepared from Alumina-Silica Insulation Type AX Moldable. This tenacious cement is easily prepared by combining AX Moldable and hot water and readily sticks parts.

Attention to the following subtle points has produced the best cement joints.
Keep the water and mixed cement temperature around 150 F. Below this temperature the user will find:
AX Moldable is difficult to dilute.
It has extremely high viscosity and does not mix well.
It sticks to the notched trowel and does not leave uniform rows.
Only apply light pressure while squeezing the parts to be bonded together. Excess pressure will squeeze too much cement from the joint.
Allow the bonded parts sufficient time to "air dry" before force drying. This allows the insulation to de-water the cement while the thickness shrinks. Drying too fast has been known to produce internal delaminations in the cement layer and poor bonding
